200ยฐ

Yesterday I attended my first ever blogger event. I’m glad it was a launch event for a coffee shop I’ve been a big fan of for a while now.

Flashback to 2016

on a spontaneous trip to Nottingham, I had my first 200 degrees experience and have since wondered why it hadn’t made it to Sheffield yet! I loved the vibe, the coffee and the food! When I heard the news a few weeks ago, I was SO excited to visit and repeat my awesome experience in Nottingham in my hometown.

Shehla & I
Shehla & I – these couches are so comfy! The interior is *iconic* – just like other 200 degrees shops!

Is it hot in here or is it just 200ยฐ? ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I attended the event with Shehla (a fellow lover-of-all-things digital – definitely check out her work!) Although we arrived soaking wet from the rain, we quickly forgot about it as we were welcomed by the fresh smell of 200 degrees coffee (if you know, you know) and some friendly faces. I got their special Brazilian Black Americano coffee along with a tray of different types of cake.

Unpopular opinion alert: I don’t usually enjoy cake (it becomes sickly after a while for me) but I couldn’t pass up the collection at 200 degrees. Safe to say, I didn’t regret it at all – satisfied my sweet tooth! ๐Ÿ˜‹

We also had a taster of their lunch menu which was delicious! You can browse through their whole menu on their website.

What makes them different to other coffee shops (and something I immediately picked up on in Nottingham), is that they truly care about the quality of their coffee. The knowledge staff had about coffee impressed me, I felt like my coffee-needs were truly considered and cared for – now that’s what you want really!

Game to get some Nitro (sounds like some sort of superpower, felt like some sort of superpower)
Game to get some Nitro (sounds like some sort of superpower, felt like some sort of superpower) I didn’t win, but still got some Nitro. The people at 200 Degrees have bee my favourite since Saturday. ๐Ÿ˜†

So why 200 Degrees?

Because we roast our coffee slowly for a smoother taste, at a slightly lower temperature than normal; at 200 Degrees. — Our Story

I can totally predict myself being a regular at 200 Degrees in Sheffield and Leeds – yep, they’re everywhere. Aiming for coffee-world-domination and I am so here for it. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ By everywhere* I mean 6 cities, including Sheffield, Birmingham, Nottingham – Carrington Street and Flying Horse Walk, Leeds, Leicester and Cardiff.

#SheffieldIsSuper

The branch in Sheffield is located at 25 Divison Street and is open tomorrow (4th of June) from 7 am! I recommend giving it a visit to study, to chill, as a meeting place or to tell them you read about it on this blog ayyyyy ๐Ÿ˜‰ In all seriousness, it has without a doubt made it to my personal list of best coffee shops to go to in Sheffield.

TL:DR – I gotcha, have a minute?

Here’s a quick video I put together from the launch event. Thanks again to the 200 Degrees team for organising the event, I can’t wait to have another cuppa with y’all! โ˜•

  1. 200ยฐ! I checked out their website and a lot of it reminds me of Philz Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee, and a few neighborhood coffee shops I frequent in my area, such as Devout Coffee and Slap Face Coffee (all four mentioned are SF Bay Area local shops ๐Ÿ˜„). I think the term for the style of coffee crafting that they use is called “third wave coffee”? (where they use pour-over methods instead of the barista machines like Starbucks and bigger coffee retails use)

The only thing that’s missing in the menu of the coffee shops I mentioned is nitro coffee. I’ve had cold brew many times but never a nitro coffee. I heard nitro coffees are a healthier option too.

Thanks for sharing your insight on 200ยฐ! One day when I visit the UK that’ll be the first place to go to for my coffee fix. ๐Ÿ˜„

    1. I love how different shops across the world give out similar vibes, it’s so comforting to me ๐Ÿค— Yes if you’re ever in the UK I can’t recommend them enough ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

  2. Congrats! Perfect start in the blogger event industry! And starting with a coffee is fabulous! Keep going!

    1. Thanks Cailin! ๐Ÿค—

  3. That place looks really cozy and comfy, the best for those events and to get some blogging work done ๐Ÿ˜€
So glad you had a great experience!
    Have an amazing week,

    1. Thanks both! It was a great experience ๐Ÿค—

  4. I LOVE NITRO! But really, that stuff does give you superpowers! Haha. I also love shops like this who actually care about what they do and they take the time to do it well. Only in the past few years have Ben and I really started to focus on supporting small local businesses like this and the quality difference is incredible.
It looks like you guys had so much fun!

    1. Hahaha no wonder I felt like I gained some superpowers ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Yesss Phil’s mint mojito iced coffee – sweet and creamy. The only coffee order I ever need there. :3

  6. 200 degree looks like such a cozy coffee shop, perfect for rainy weather! And congrats on your first blogger event! How fun!

Side note: Your reply function doesn’t seem to be working for a non-user. I’m on Safari but I didn’t test it on other browsers. My Phil’s comment was supposed to be directed to Adrianne’s comment, but it appears to be alone. T_T

    1. Thanks for letting me know Thao! I’ll get fix it ASAP ๐Ÿ›

      1. All fixed! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

  7. Wow, that looks like a really nice coffee shop. I hate how my town has sooooo many starbucks now. I HATE starbucks drip coffee. BLEH! lol There other drinks are okay… *ducks from angry starbucks lovers*
One of my boss’s wife started up her own little cute coffee shop near my work so I tend to go there. She has some great drip coffees so at least I have that option. ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m a bit the same with cake, I don’t really care for it. I’m not a big sweets eater. I get all my calories from other carbs like potatoes. hehe

    1. I try not to go to Starbucks nowadays, I prefer little hipster coffee shops ๐Ÿค— That’s super cute – one day I’d love to have my own coffee shop ahaha!!

  8. I am so on board with these hipster coffee places! The interior looks so cozy with the fancy chairs and stuff. Glad you enjoyed the cakes even though it’s not a norm fave! Good to hear that you enjoyed your time there :).

    1. It’s so much better than Starbucks imo! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

  9. Yay for your first blogger event! I have never attended any blogger events before. Not that famous to get invited… Haha.
