After my second year, I decided to take a year out to get some industry experience. I ended up securing a role at the University of Sheffield as a Communications and External Engagement Assistant Intern. Keen to document my experience, I decided to write these checkpoint posts about what I had picked up. For example, learning the processes, technologies and ways of working. Above all, I also hope inspire students who may be wondering if taking a placement year is right for them.
