So… this is sort of nostalgic! I haven’t written a blog post since like 2008/2009/2010. It’s been such a long time, it feels so strange that I’m going back into this world I literally grew up in! I have certainly grown and matured (I hope so) since my last blogs from years ago.
For those who don’t know, I used to own a website for years called “mortal-beauty” – my blog where I talked about my life and growing up. I am currently on a hunt for my old posts and files, hopefully, I’ll find them again so I can truly go down memory lane. I have enjoyed looking at my old blogging buddies still active blogs and just feeling exactly how I was as when I was that little girl in front of her computer screen. It’s so strange but feels great to be blogging again!
It’s super weird seeing as the last time I properly blogged was probably when I was doing my GCSEs which was around 3-4 years ago. I’m a university student now! For those familiar with the UK education system, I managed to pass through my GCSEs and A Levels without much struggle or tears (ha ha, the hardest time of my life by far) I got into my first choice university and have just completed my first year.
I have to say, compared to my years at school, my first year at university wasn’t so stressful – don’t get me wrong, it was STILL super stressful but in comparison to school, I didn’t stay up and have numerous break downs mid-term.
Over the years, I’ve been meaning to get back into blogging and having my own website but I just didn’t find the time for it and I lost the spark that really got me into it in the first place. However, this year at university, I really did miss blogging and had so many opportunities and events that happened to me that made me think, “Oh, I would love to share this with people!” I’m still trying to get back into the swing of making and designing web layouts as you can clearly tell by the current layout.
In addition to the nostalgia I’ve been feeling with blogging, I’ve also started replaying one of my favourite games: Kingdom Hearts on my PS2 again, the music, the gameplay, the everything – YES! I used to spend hours playing this game as a kid and here I am, at 19 playing it all over again.
Some things – like my gaming habits – haven’t changed!
My whole summer has probably consisted of me going back; remembering and reflecting through old photos, games, posts etc. I’ve also been quite spontaneous this summer – I recently got a second part time job, which was totally unplanned. I went to the interview feeling quite random being there. The title of this blog post is actually inspired by this, it’s a song by one of my favourite bands at the moment: Oh Wonder.
A lot of my friends and family have been questioning why I took up a second job; I honestly don’t know why I did nevertheless, I’ve been really enthusiastic about it and has been a lot of fun and rewarding (money and personal development) I feel like it is so important to reflect to develop yourself into a better person than you were yesterday, so these little spontaneous things that you actively do is always a step forwards.
Have you done any spontaneous things recently (that has become a routine in your everyday life)? Or found yourself looking back and re living old memories?
