My workout gear collection
For today’s post I wanted to share my workout gear collection. I’ve been asked this a few times on social media, and I usually try and tag every thing I wear during my morning workout snaps (if you know, you know) but thought it might be easier to have a reference point here on my blog!
Why I invest in sports gear
When I first started working out back in 2016, I didn’t wear any fancy gym wear. In fact, I found the cheapest leggings I could find and just a random baggy T-shirt and went with that. That is of course, until I experienced one of the most embarassing moments of my life when I was squatting and my leggings ripped. Other moments include not realising my leggings were see-through until after a tough leg day with lots of lunges and squats. ðĐ
Since then, I’ve been keen to invest in quality workout gear.
There was a point where I did go a little out of control and spent way too much money just buying workout gear above everything else. I’m sure all workout enthusiasts have been there ðĪĢ But now I feel like I have my spending my money on workout gear addiction a bit more in control. Throughout this obsessive process though, I’ve been able to find the brands that I love and can always rely on as well as the right sort of styles that suit my body. ðŠðž
Over March/April, I went on a bit of a decluttering spree and sold previously loved workout gear. With the money I earned, I decided to reinvest in my workout collection. This brought me to the gear that I currently have, I love every single one of them. It’s been fun to mix and match them as well ð Let me share them with you!
My favourite brands
Gymshark
I have a special place for Gymshark in my heart. ð I discovered them around the same time I started my health journey in 2016. I not only love their gear, but also the mission of the company! I’ve also been a huge fan of some of the athletes that they sponsor.
Back in 2017, I went to their pop-up shop in London to meet some of them in person. I had the chance to speak to Gymshark’s CEO, Ben Francis as well which was awesome. I love super driven, passionate people – they fire me up! ðĨ
My Gymshark collection has shrunk recently (since I went on a decluttering spree) but I still love them as a brand! I used to own ONLY Gymshark, but wanted to diversify a little bit.
- Camo Seamless Leggings in Lavender Grey – They’ve sold out in this colour, but they still have other colours avaliable. One of my absolute favourites.
- Geo Seamless Leggings in Black – A staple piece for me. I have the full length ones which is currently sold out, but they have a cropped version here.
- Flex Cropped Biker Shorts in Grey – I don’t like wearing super short shorts so these have been great because they are in between. The ones that I have are currently sold out, but this is a great alternative.
- Vital Seamless Long Sleeve in Black, Pink (cropped) and Purple – These are my favourites to rotate between during the winter. They still have some in stock here!
- A yellow sports bra? – I forgot the exact range it’s from (and it’s not on their website anymore âđïļ) but the yellow has been a favourite and the fit is perfect for showing off back gainz âïļ
DoYouEven (DYE)
I came across DYE on Instagram! My friend Georgie also sent me a seamless set that she no longer wanted from them a few years ago. Since then I’ve been keeping an eye out on their releases, I was wildly impressed by the quality and variety of colours they have with all their ranges. Most of my collection has been from a recent purchase where I wanted to switch up from my usual black/purple combos and experiment with different colours.
- Hyperflex Seamless Leggings in Mauve Purple
- Impact Seamless set in Forest Green
- Excel Sculpt Thin-Strap Crop and Shorts in Orange Sherbet
- Excel Crop in Ruby Red
My favourite out of all of these has to be the orange sherbet set. I initally bought it because it looked yellow on Instagram photos I saw and I’ve been leaning into yellow a lot recently… Turns out it really suits me ð
Navigation (NVGTN)
I found this brand during the start of lockdown when I was on Instagram a lot more scrolling ðĪĶðŧââïļ But I’m so glad that I did! I managed to find them just in time for their release.
NVGTN are known to have limited stock. So if you want to buy something from them, you have to be quick! On the day of their latest release, I was waiting at my laptop for about half an hour refreshing the page ð
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m so happy with my recent purchase. The quality is amazing, and everything has looked incredible on as well! Because of how quickly they sell out, I haven’t been able to link the pieces that I got but I hope my pictures gives you an idea of what they’re like.
- Mauve Purple Trio Bra
- Open Back Tee in Black
- Violet Seamless Leggings
- Violet Seamless shorts
Lululemon
An OG brand! One of my first workout gear purchases were from Lululemon. Mostly focused on yoga gear, but I have bought some stuff from them before and used it during my strength training workouts. They do the job just fine!
I actually sold most of my old Lululemon pre-loved items recently. Before then, I had a lot more in my collection. ð
Side note: I love walking into Lululemon stores. They’re the home of zen. âĻ
- Align Biker Shorts in Black – Again, I don’t like super short shorts so I’ve opted for biker shorts. These ones are a staple! I wear these the most probably ð
- Align Pant 28″ in Black – Still in stock here!
Pursue Fitness
I spotted their 2020 Seamless Sports Bra in Black and fell in love immediately. It’s one of my go-tos when I want to show off my back (i.e. during back and shoulders day ð) I was surprised by the quality, it’s really held out and looks hot ASF. ðĨ
Ryderwear
I did a huge bulk order from Ryderwear during one of their massive sales after discovering them on Instagram. Unfortunately, I felt disappointed by the majority of what I bought. They looked good, but most of them felt uncomfortable which was a shame.
However, I did keep one – the Lunar Luxe Sports Bra ð It was the only comfortable one out of everything I had bought, as well as it reminded me of when I always say “I earned my sparkles” after a workout. ð It’s gorgeous!
Under Armour
Is it bad that I bought something from Under Armour because I just love the Rock so much? ðĪŠ
I was in the market to upgrade my beat up trainers, and was always curious on Under Armour so I got myself the UA HOVR Phantom Running Shoes in Black.
I’m not big on shoes that much – I pretty much like wearing one as much as I can even if it doesn’t look great with my outfits ð If there were one trainers I could wear forever, it would be these ones. ð
It’s not a vital part of working out (obviously) but I have found that it has help motivate me when I struggle to get out of bed. Also, who doesn’t want to feel good and comfortable in what you’re wearing? If you have any favourite sports brands – please share, I always like looking out for new ones!
I hope this post is insightful to those wanting to invest in some quality workout gear ðŠðž
